Can I quit my day job and be an exclusive ACN rep? Will I make enough money to survive and actually receive a passive residual income as a (ETT) Executive Team Trainer. How will I get leads when I can’t "cold call" or advertise? I don’t know very many people. Is there any one there who would like to help me, I hate selling but I sure like any assistance I could get. ( aside from MLM….) With all the various list builders out there ( Mammoth List, eProspect Finder, List Twister, etc…. ) what method of advertising has brought you the best results?

And even better, if you’ve tried more then one, which one had shown the best response?

I’ve had the most success with viralurl and forum marketing. At the moment I’m setting up a MySpace campaign.

With viralurl you can send out emails to 3000 people. You do need some decent copywriting skills to get people to open your mail and click your link though.

With forum marketing you can target your market spot on. It is important not to start promoting your business though. Write a catchy, inspiring signature to get clicks and post helpful comments. Knowledge is king in forum marketing.

Besides Traffic Geyser, there is a free service called Tube Mogul. It works in much the same way. Additionally there is a software package I found called Tube Mastery (http://www.websitemarketingskills.com/recommends/TubeMastery) which works really well in terms of how to market on YouTube. The same basic information is true on the other sites, as well. Use your profile page to link to your site and use calls to action to get people to respond. I would just buy that program and familiarize yourself with it.

I keep seeing crashcrate.com, treasuretrooper.com and mylot.com – should we all report everyone advertising these sites? First, I think it’s spam and second, I don’t think they really work and would be damaging to the Answers users who try this and get burned.

I agree with you because I have a legit home business and when I try to help someone they report me and mine is not even a scam.

I’ve been researching on how to start my home-based travel business as an independent contractor. I am looking at joining Joystar or Dugans Travels…if you have any experience with any of the two companies, I would appreciate your input. Please DO NOT advertise other travel businesses or companies (MLM, pyramid, etc.) for I have made my final decision in joining either of the two. Thanks so much!

I will say that we have the greatest agents working with us. There are so many people willing to help one another out. We have an online chatlist that agents can use to ask questions or get feedback and I think the agents who help answer questions on our chatlist are awesome.

If you plan on booking Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, last I heard Joystar was no longer allowed to book Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. I am not sure if that has been resolved yet.

When you have found awesome products that you really want to share in the mlm business how do you get public to understand you are not in a pyramid scheme? When in fact I know people who join your team can surpass your income level?
I know we all network.Example "telling" somebody you saw a great movie.Nobody thinks pyramid.Yet you get a more positve response.Really? Im going to go see that or rent that movie.That person tells 3 more friends and they all become blockbuster,netflix,theater or whom ever regulars.Next week those 3 tell people about this great movie they saw using netflix…..you get the idea? We do this all the time.Now is getting paid for referring others …advertising for others ….almost like royalty checks sound soooo scamish?Get quick rich? It is great that you are passionate about the product and the opportunity to generate an income from sharing it. I agree that MLM gives anyone the opportunity to surpass the uplines income level. I don’t agree with your interpretation of "word of mouth" advertising. If you are telling someone about a great movie, that is word of mouth marketing. You have nothing to gain in the process of telling them. The same goes for the three who tell three and so on. They have nothing to gain by doing so. However, with all of this in mind and if you keep your business real, you can experience word of mouth in MLM from your customers. You are not really getting paid for referring, you are getting paid on your sales.

Please don’t get me wrong, I enjoy MLM. I prefer to target market. I have learned many ways to attract people to what I have to offer. I owe what I have learned through a free ebook which I have posted in my Yahoo Answers Profile page. There are great ways to couple real business marketing skills with the MLM opportunity and products.

Isn’t AVON a MLM company- and aren’t they supposed to just do word of mouth advertising? I just wonder if the big bucks it takes to make those ads gets taken, essentially, out of the pockets of the consultants in the long run?

Anyways, I’m just curious about this. I use my skin care/cosmetics from a different MLM company.
ETA: I use Arbonne, and its pretty popular and only uses word of mouth- its definitely possible for this type of business/company.

I don’t know, I always wondered also. My local AVON lady says she barely makes a dime out of what she sells, so I wonder…why do it?

-shrug- I don’t really shop AVON anymore. I’m starting to go more towards Mary Kay…

How does MLM marketing work? I was thinking about becoming a shaklee distributor, but I couldn’t find a sponsor who would answer all my questions & I can’t get a full grasp of how MLM marketing works. I don’t want to bother my friends and family. I want to know how to market to the "cold market" = everyone else. Besides marketing on websites mlm is hard for me to understand because 1 i have no loyalty to a certain brand 2. I never bought something from a catalog and 3. i never met someone that said, hey I found this new product try it here is my business card. So how does it work besides advertising in the news paper or on bulletin boards and random strangers? The only way i can think of it working is if you can get small business owners to market the products in there store. But the products are already expensive. If i was a retailer i would not market a product with only a 15% mark down. So how does this work? Who do you market too, How long does it take to build a downline?

So basically you don’t market to retailers or businesses, you just sell by chatting to people online and offline building business. How do you chat to people for your global business when you don’t speak the language?

Its tough, really tough. I have tried many different schemes with down lines, uplines, PV’s, autoshipping and on and on. Decide what you would really love to do, I mean something your are really passionate about, and think of ways you could turn those into a job. I love pools, so I started a pool management company. 28 pools/week and I never look back.
