MLM/Network Marketing? Does success come at the expense of others?
To be successful in the industry of MLM/Networking you have to accept the fact that the design of the marketing plan is set up to attract the naive. Right or wrong?
You are taught that less is more when spreading the word.
To build business, do you have to accept that many fail by design? (Many independent stats show 97% or higher)
Are the trainings set up to teach taking advantage of others?
For example, not giving full information and targeting peoples needs for extra income. Many times MLM/Network Marketing creates new buying habits for the hope or chance of financial freedom yet less then 3% ever experience profit from participation.
I am one of those who went from a tragic MLM experience to the next for several years now. I used to have a lot of faith in the system, and lots of motivation in the early 90′s. Back in Europe i went with Schwartz for a few months, and didn’t make anything, actually i ended up losing over a thousand the first month, between travelling costs, openings and meetings, with fees ranging between 50 and 200 US dollars. I think i still have some of those tapes and video cassettes. For a while i thought i was simply not cut out for the system. I tried Amway for a number of years, then Herbalife. I moved to Australia for a while and there i decided to try Network21, which had considerably lower start-up costs than in Europe.
After almost 10 years of pulling out and getting sucked back in, i finally resolved that you can slice and dice any mlm system as hard as you want, but still it will never give you the result you want OR the results advertised.
Sorry folks, but a decent day-job will beat any of these mlm schemes any day of the week.
Home based businesses?
Everytime I consider getting involved in a home based business, I’m ovewhelmed with the mile-long advertisements that tell me nothing, but want my credit card info at the end. I end up giving up because my eyes can no longer focus
And now I’m noticing tons of people right here on Y A advertising for which ever MLM they currently working with.
I need some practical advice on which of these to consider.
I don’t expect to have to pay to join, or buy any particular products associated with the program in order to stay active.
Thanks guys!
Anything you get via email pays too little to support a home based business or is a scam. If it was so good, the advertisers would be doing the jobs themselves and not advertising.
Your best option for a home based business is one of the following:
-something you create yourself or with a friend/co-worker
-working for a reliable established company like Avon, Tupperware, etc.
I have a home based business designing websites. That is because that is where my skill is. I suggest you review your strongest skill sets and determine a job you can do yourself at home based on these skills. You will be suprised how many small business, individuals around you will need your help.
HELP! My MLM upline is telling me something I am not sure is right?
I want to know opinions from people in MLM in regards to what my upline is telling me. My company sells a service that I sell by phone. I have a background in phone sales and thus I have been able to make a decent (but meager) income selling the service myself.
Now my upline is telling me that I should be focusing my time on recruiting others to sell as oppose to personal sales. The idea behind it is that I am never going to get rich just selling the product, and so I must recruit others.
I am personally torn, as to focus any attention on recruiting would mean I would sacrifice some income that I am making in my personal sales.
What do you suggest I do? Is my upline right, that I should shift my focus to building a downline as oppose to sales?
You do what YOU want to do. Your upline is just thinking about THEIR money. The more you recruit, the more money they get.
If you are comfortable not having a downline, don’t have a downline. Do what makes you happy!
cheapest and effective newsletter advertisers?
I would like to advertise in a newsletter and looking for reputable newsletter publishers that offer valuable content with an active subscriber list and accept advertising at an affordable rate.
I have tried the ezine directories, but I don’t seem to be able to identify reputable newsletters as a result I would be grateful if people who have advertised in newsletters before with good results recommend a couple of people.
Interests are
Humor
Internet marketing related
health
Online Business related .. no mlm
Thanks you for your help
Newsletters are hard to pin down as far as getting your money’s worth. There is no easy way to track their actual subscriber base.
You might consider instead using inexpensive Public Relations.
There are several companies which write a feature article based on your product or services and which deliver it nationwide to smaller newspapers and magazines. These publications often print the articles verbatim and you get nationwide exposure for a low price.
Not only that but your article looks like an article, not an ad. Amazing results on a relative shoestring.
I’m thinking of rejoining the MLM business but I HATE chasing people..?
I’m thinking of rejoining the MLM industry to suppliment my fixed income but I HATE chasing people and I HATE vitamins and other health and wellness products and FYI I’ve done Direct Matches and GDI..I’m looking for something simple, reasonably priced and has a unique product or service and again I WON’T COLD CALL OR CHASE PROSPECTS! I’m very happy making $50 to $100 dollars a week.
Don’t waste your time. Unless you have the willingness to devote 100s+ hours into recruiting more people like you, you won’t even make that $50 – $100 you’re looking for.
I don’t want to make a huge mistake by taking a bad job, do you think its legit?
I’m a 20 year old business major who recently started looking for jobs on some career websites! I found there are lots of direct marketing jobs that offer things like paid training, and opportunities for advancement, but i need to know if they are legitimate businesses, I have checked out the website, but anyone can make a good website these days, no its not an MLM as far as I can see right now, and they are not asking for any money from me! but I want to know if it is truly a money making opportunity and a way to get a foot in the door of sales and marketing, so let me know your experiences!
so you know some of the companies I’ve interviewed with are new direction promotions, scanno advertising, o.c. marketing and tld and associates, let me know especially if you have worked with any of these they are located in cali, they all seem to do the same type of thing
Direct Marketing translates into Direct Sales. You are either going to businesses on sales calls, or you are going door to door. If this is what you like doing you can make some decent money doing it.

i know there are ways to make money without a job. I would like to here some success stories, or someone to teach me how they did. i am eager to learn and a fast learner. i am also highly self motivated, just dont know which direction to point myself. i would like to start something part-time and build it up to a full time income. please no mlm or scams and rather it not be online work. something along the lines of small business or real estate i can start with little money. i have excellent credit and some cash and equity in my home.WILL someone please help me break this cycle in my family where you go to work evryday and make someone else rich for pennies and die broke.please. i dont want to hear from all you negative unmotivated people who havent done something like this.if you havent started a business or made money on the side keep your opinions to your self. i have enough negative people in my family who are unmotivating.

Has anyone been an Arbonne Consultant, or been involved in any MLM business?
I am considering getting into the business in order to stay home with my baby (due in March). I’m not looking to become rich or anything, I just want something to supplement my husband’s income. I have heard lots of negatives of Multi-level- marketing, though. Any opinions on the subject? Or any other suggestions for working from home?
I am an Area Manager with Arbonne and have been building my business since March in WA. It has been the best decision I have made. It definitely takes commitment and work but if you follow a duplicatable system it is worth it. I recovered my initial investment after my second month it has fulfilled the reason I chose it to be home with my kids. I am very excited about the products and the opportunity and looking forward to soon becoming an RVP.
I took the time to research the company. There are many MLM’s that work you to the bone and you get nothing in return. I found with Arbonne that you’re success is not dictated by the person above you nor is your income. You are in business for yourself but not by yourself. Based on your individual efforts you can pass your sponsor which I am about to do.
I truly believe that it is a phenomenal way to stay home and to be distributing products that I know are phenomenal are making a difference in people’s overal health and sell themselves.
I would, however, recommend staying away from the home party plan and selling at retail. Build your business by stepping over the dollar to reach for the dime by this I mean set yourself up to earn a residual income. Do the work once and get paid continually by setting people up with their own wholesale online account where they can order for themselves at a discount and then you get paid every time.
Why don’t I get points for reporting abuse?
I keep finding all these turkeys advertising for their MLM’s, their websites, adult content, etc. I thing I should get 3-4 points for reporting abuse!
